About the Role We are seeking a Talent Acquisition professional focused on recruiting experienced accounting professionals within a CPA firm environment. This role will lead full-cycle recruitment for senior-level hires, including Senior Accountants, Managers, Senior Managers, and Directors across Assurance, Tax, and Advisory.
This position is highly proactive and outreach-driven. You will spenda significant portionof your time directly engaging passive candidates through cold outreach, including phone calls and Linked In messaging, to build relationships and generate interest.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full-cycle recruitment for experienced public practice accounting roles (Senior Accountant through Senior Manager/Director/Principal, as applicable) across Assurance, Tax (including Cross-Border Tax), and Advisory
- Partner with Partners and senior leaders to define hiring needs, scorecards, and candidate profiles
- Build and execute targeted sourcing strategies to engage passive talent in the CPA firm market
- Conduct consistent daily outbound outreach (cold calling, Linked In messaging, referrals, and networking) to generate qualified pipelines
- Assess candidates for technical depth, client exposure, and progression within public practice; present shortlists with clear recommendations
- Manage the end-to-end interview and selection process, ensuring alignment,timely feedback, and strong candidate experience
- Lead offer strategy and negotiations, supporting closing in a competitive market
- Track and reporttalentpipeline, outreach activity, and hiring progress;maintain accurate
ATS/CRM data and recruiting dashboards.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of recruitment experience, ideally focused on experienced hires
- Agency recruiting and/or in-house talent acquisition experience within professional services
- Proven experience recruiting public practice accounting talent at the Senior Accountant level and above
- Comfortable sourcing and engaging passive candidates via cold calling, Linked In messaging, referrals, and networking
- Demonstrated successinengaging and converting passive candidates
Experience partnering with senior stakeholders (e.g., Partners and senior leaders)
- Strong negotiation and closing skills in a competitive talent market
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills
- Experience using an ATS/CRM with strong data hygiene and reporting discipline
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Additional Requirements (Nice to Have)
- Strong understanding of CPA designation requirements and career progression within a CPA firm
- Experience recruiting within a mid-market or large CPA firm
- Established network within the accounting community
- Experience using Linked In Recruiter and other sourcing tools
