Recreation – Summer Student (Temporary Full Time) Jobs in Brantford at St. Joseph’s Health Centre Guelph
St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre is searching for an enthusiastic individual to support our Recreation Department throughout the summer months.
As a Recreation Student, you will report to the Life Enrichment Manager of St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre on tasks related to sports, games, movies, crafts, music, and other recreational activities. You will be responsible for setting up equipment for activities and cleaning up once the event is over. You will also have an active role in ensuring all residents maintain a healthy day-to-day living quality up to each of their specific needs and capabilities.
Successful Candidates Will Possess:
High degree of interpersonal skills.
Currently enrolled in a secondary or post-secondary program.
Experience in a hospital, long-term care, or retirement setting is desirable.
Computer skills would be an asset.
Received at least two (2) doses of a Health Canada-approved Covid-19 vaccine.
The successful candidate will be an energetic, creative, outgoing effective team member who enjoys working with Long Term Care residents.
The Recreation student supports program delivery within the home.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Including but not limited to:
Set-up, porter, facilitate and clean-up group activities.
Document using Activity Pro software.
The employee will work in accordance with all the policies and procedures of the facility.
The employee will work in a safe and healthy manner and will follow the regulations outlined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form using critical thinking skills.
Supporting program delivery within the home
