POSITION SUMMARY:
The mandate of this position is to conduct auditing and inspection of manufactured parts and processes to ensure full compliance with documentation/drawings/specifications; including final verification of internal documentation (job traveler) and systems records for completeness, accuracy, and AS9100 traceability.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Ensure that parts meet all RAMPF and customer inspection requirements in accordance with Job Traveler documentation (i.e. fit/form/function, weight)
Ensure that all process monitoring activities are documented and operating in accordance with RAMPF requirements
Perform measurements using inspection tools including Vernier, micrometers, height gauges, feeler gauges, and Go/No-go gauge and CMM verification
Initiate rejection and non-conformance process: Internal re-work or Non-Conformance Report (NCR) when required which includes appropriate communication internally
Communicate with other departmental leads regarding in-process inspection to identify and correct any issues that may be occurring in production
May require some CMM programming and operation, including experience working with portable inspection arm (Romer or Faro)
Identification of opportunities for improvement in part or process
Other duties as assigned
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Experience:
1-2 years quality inspection experience preferred, with demonstrated ability in reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings; including an understanding of geometric tolerances
Skilled knowledge and experience using a variety of measuring and inspection equipment, such as calipers, micrometer, and Verniers
GD&T training, CMM programming and operation experience, including Romer/Faro arm, gantry chart is beneficial
Past experience and knowledge of operate a test lab, including a mechanical testing machine is a definite asset
Practical experience in performing in-process and final inspections on machined parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies
College Diploma in a technical discipline, with a background in composites and manufacturing (aerospace and military defense) a definite asset
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office software and electronic file management and communication
