About The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a Quality Control / Process Technologist to support the mill’s Quality Control program and Production Process monitoring.

The Technologist functions as the primary resource for all testing of pulp, both in the production process and as a final product.

The Technologist will perform daily fiber species testing and regular analysis of pulp properties. They will be responsible for monitoring the process to ensure quality is met, and final product is graded appropriately.

You will also assist with process optimization, troubleshooting, environmental monitoring, work with staff, supervisors and operating personnel to develop solutions to mill operating issues

About You

You will possess a post-secondary degree or diploma in science or engineering, along with experience in chemical-based process industries or physical property testing

Strong practical laboratory skills are essential, as tests need to be completed correctly and on time.

A practical understanding of the pulping process or demonstration of process industry knowledge is an asset.

The successful applicant will be organized, able to multi-task and able to adapt to changing priorities.

You will also be able to foresee potential problems and act to minimize their impact.
