Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Purchasing Agent to join our supply chain team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing procurement activities, sourcing materials, and negotiating to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. This role requires a strong understanding of ERP systems, materials management, and supply chain processes to support operational efficiency and inventory control.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end procurement processes.
- Source suppliers, evaluate bids, negotiate pricing, and establish contracts to optimize costs and quality
- Coordinate with production planning, logistics, engineering, quality and inventory management teams to ensure seamless supply chain operations
- Monitor inventory levels using current systems and implement effective inventory control strategies
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships to ensure reliable supply and favorable terms
- Conduct market research to identify opportunities for new sources and stay updated on industry trends
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on procurement strategies aligned with overall business objectives
Qualifications
Required:
- Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- One-year-related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills:
- Excellent mathematical skills
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written communications and communication skills
- Excellent negotiating skills
- Proficient Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook skills
- Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
- Great decision-making skills
Experience:
