Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchaser to join our procurement team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, goods, and services necessary for our manufacturing operations. This role requires strong vendor management skills, familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, and a solid understanding of supply chain processes. The Purchaser will play a critical role in ensuring timely procurement, cost efficiency, and maintaining strong supplier relationships to support our production goals.
Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end purchasing process, including sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of materials and services.
- Utilize ERP systems like SAP to create purchase orders, track deliveries, and maintain accurate procurement records.
- Collaborate with internal departments to understand their material requirements and lead sourcing initiatives accordingly.
- Evaluate and select vendors based on pricing, quality, delivery timeframes, and reliability; maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Monitor inventory levels using MRP systems to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained without overstocking or shortages.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality standards.
- Coordinate with supply chain teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any procurement-related issues promptly.
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers or alternative sourcing options that can improve efficiency or reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement regulations throughout all purchasing activities.
Skills
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP or other similar platforms for procurement management.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain logistics.
- Experience in vendor management, sourcing strategies, and negotiation techniques.
- Knowledge of pricing strategies, procurement best practices, and inventory control using MRP systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective negotiation and relationship building with suppliers.
- Ability to analyze market trends and data to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Familiarity with supply chain management principles and procurement regulations is preferred.
