Position Summary
Empire Group is seeking a skilled Prototype Shop Painter to support product development programs
spanning consumer electronics, medical devices, defense, aerospace, toys, and juvenile products.
The role supports all phases of development—from early concept models through functional alpha
prototypes—with finishes ranging from engineering-grade surfaces to high-fidelity appearance models.
Core Responsibilities
- Prepare prototype parts through cleaning, sanding, masking, fixturing, and surface preparation.
- Apply primers, paints, and specialty coatings using HVLP spray equipment.
- Mix custom colors using Cromax paint systems and mixing equipment.
- Support curing, oven processing, and post-processing operations.
- Inspect finished components for color accuracy and finish requirements.
- Collaborate with model makers and fabricators to meet project deadlines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe paint environment.
Qualifications
- Experience in industrial, automotive, aerospace, prototype, or specialty coating environments.
- Proficiency with HVLP spray application techniques.
- Experience mixing custom colors and operating paint formulation systems.
- Ability to interpret CMF documentation and finish specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-fidelity finishes.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 – $32.00 per hour
