The opportunity

Associated Engineering, a proudly Canadian, Employee‑owned Company, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Project Engineer – Infrastructure (Facilities) to join our team in our Ontario operation (Markham, NOTL, Kitchener). This position is a full‑time position where you will be responsible for serving as the civil lead on multidisciplinary facility projects – including water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and reservoirs.

You will own the civil scope from design through construction, collaborating closely with process, mechanical, electrical, and structural teams to deliver integrated, high‑quality infrastructure for communities across Ontario.

What you’ll do

Serve as the civil lead on multidisciplinary facility projects including water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and reservoirs – leading site grading, servicing, stormwater management, and structural coordination to deliver integrated, buildable civil designs.

  • Act as the primary civil lead for booster pump stations, sewage pump stations, and reservoir projects – managing the civil scope from design through to construction and ensuring milestones are met on time and within budget
  • Collaborate with process, mechanical, electrical, and structural teams to ensure seamless integration of the civil scope within the broader facility design – resolving cross‑discipline conflicts to keep projects aligned and efficient
  • Navigate municipal approvals and environmental permitting processes relevant to facility infrastructure projects in Ontario – preparing drawings, specifications, and reports to meet all regulatory requirements
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and intermediate engineers and technologists, while applying QA standards and checklists to uphold the quality and consistency of civil deliverables

Does this sound like you?

  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with a focus on multidisciplinary facility or infrastructure projects
  • Registered P.Eng. with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), or currently eligible for P.Eng. licensure in Ontario
  • Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized post‑secondary institution
  • Proven technical expertise in the design and delivery of civil engineering design including water/wastewater treatment facilities, booster pump stations, sewage pump stations, or reservoirs
  • Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams (process, mechanical, electrical, structural) on complex facility projects
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a natural ability to lead project teams and engage with clients and external stakeholders
  • Proven ability to deliver high‑quality work and meet project deadlines in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment
