About the Role
The Project Engineer is responsible for managing and executing customer projects with a strong focus on the maintenance phase and field execution. This role combines project management, technical engineering expertise, and customer engagement to ensure successful delivery, quality, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation (CQV) activities for pharmaceutical equipment and systems
- Author, review, and execute validation documentation including:
- Installation Qualification (IQ) protocols
- Operational Qualification (OQ) protocols
- Validation reports and summary documentation
- Perform field inspections to define project scope, materials, and labor requirements
- Translate engineering designs into practical execution plans for site teams and contractors
- Coordinate validation activities across cross-functional teams and multiple workstreams
- Develop vendor scope of work (SOW) documents for engineering and service providers
- Oversee and monitor third-party contractor execution to ensure compliance and quality
- Manage schedules and ensure timely delivery of validation milestones
- Ensure all activities comply with FDA Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and internal quality standards
- Align validation and construction activities with OSHA Process Safety Management (29 CFR 1910.119) requirements
Required Qualifications
- Strong leadership and ability to manage cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Customer-focused mindset with strong relationship-building ability.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project and Excel.
- Strong technical knowledge of:
- Electrical power distribution
- Protection systems
- Automation engineering
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation preferred (not mandatory).
- PMP or equivalent project management certification is an asset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification.
- Experience working in maintenance-focused project environments.
- Prior experience with LV/MV systems, switchgear, and power management systems.
- Experience leading cross-functional engineering and field teams.
