Job SummaryReporting to a Project Manager, Special Projects, theProject Coordinator (Special Projects)will estimate, plan, and execute a high volume of short-term projects safely, on time, and within scope and budget.

Responsibilities

As inquiries are received, develop cost estimates and quotations for special project demands

Review sites to identify potential constructability issues, safety hazards or operational requirements

Attend site meetings with various stakeholders, as required

Prepare documentation required for scheduling and mobilization

Collaborate with the operations team, as well as internal and external resources, as required

Compile all required information to submit utility locate requests, as well as keep utility locates valid before the work is scheduled

Regular check ins with Foremen pre and post job hand off

Troubleshoot on-site issues with assistance from the Project Manager and promptly communicate any incidents to the Project Manager to ensure workflow and project deliverables are met

Complete forecasting (short and long term) requirements to ensure proper resources are maintained

Ensure project folders are up-to-date with documentation related to the project, including email correspondence, and site photos.

Manage a high volume of short-term projects, concurrently

Other tasks as assigned and required

Qualifications

Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering and/or Construction Management

1+ year experience (co-operative education or internships included) within a Construction environment

Strong communication skills and results oriented with a sense of urgency and effective problem-solving abilities

Organized, flexible and able to adapt to changing business conditions in a fast-past work environment

Demonstrated time management, scheduling, and negotiations skills

Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) with ability to learn and maintain skillset with new technology platforms

Must have a clean driving record and a valid G driver’s license

Able to work evenings and weekends on an ad-hoc basis

Skills considered to be strong assets include Canadian Construction Labour Laws & Codes, previous experience in a project coordinator role, MTO project exposure, previous supervisory experience, Jonas Software exposure
