Overview

The Program Supervisor provides leadership that inspires excellence in practice and fosters a collaborative learning culture among educators, children, and families. The Supervisor supports the development and implementation of high-quality programming that reflects our organizational values and the vision of the BC Early Learning Framework.

This role requires a leader who is reflective, relationship-focused, and committed to continuous learning. The successful candidate will support educators in creating environments where children feel a strong sense of belonging, are encouraged to express their ideas, and are viewed as active participants in their own learning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Pedagogical Leadership

  • Champion the principles and vision of the BC Early Learning Framework throughout all aspects of the O3 Program.
  • Foster a culture of reflective practice, inquiry, and ongoing professional learning.
  • Mentor educators in observing, documenting, and responding to children’s interests, strengths, and emerging ideas.
  • Support curriculum development that values play, exploration, creativity, and meaningful relationships.
  • Encourage educators to engage in critical reflection about their practice and learning environments.

Leadership and Team Development

  • Provide support, coaching, and mentorship to staff.
  • Build a collaborative and respectful team culture grounded in trust and shared responsibility.
  • Support staff in identifying professional learning goals and growth opportunities.
  • Lead team meetings and facilitate meaningful discussions that strengthen practice.

Family and Community Relationships

  • Develop strong, respectful partnerships with families.
  • Create opportunities for family engagement and participation.
  • Honour the diverse experiences, cultures, languages, and identities of children and families.
  • Foster connections with community partners that enhance program quality and support children and families.

Program Operations

  • Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, organizational policies, and health and safety standards.
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, record keeping, and program administration.
  • Monitor program quality and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director on strategic and operational priorities.

Qualifications

  • Valid ECE Certificate (or equivalent credentials as required).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in child care, school-age care, or related programs.
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of the BC Early Learning Framework and contemporary approaches to child development.
  • Experience supporting reflective practice and pedagogical dialogue among educators.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
  • Current First Aid Certification and satisfactory Criminal Record Check.

Pay: $35.54-$43.54 per hour
