Full job description
Elysian Ventures provides services and supports to children and adults with cognitive challenges. We are currently seeking aProgram Coordinatorto oversee a new complex needs program located in Caroline, AB.
The ideal candidate will likely be characterized by others as authentic, service-focused, responsible, compassionate, organized and outgoing.
Some of the responsibilities for a Program Coordinator will include:
Responsible for all day to day operations of the program
Support and supervise staff and clients in the program; able to problem solve in a professional, respectful manner
Accessing community supports
Development and implementation of care plans
Ensure use of appropriate procedure regarding intake/admission, client contact, reports and discharges
Evaluate staff performance and participate in the hiring of new staff
Payroll and financial duties for the program
Staffing coverage and scheduling
On-Call for the program when applicable
10 hours 4 days a week schedule
This position requires an individual who can professionally address the daily challenges in this setting with confidence, forgiveness, and consistency. In addition to these characteristics, the successful candidate will possess the following:
Minimum 2 years experience in providing care for adults with complex needs
2 years of supervisory experience would be an asset
Strong interpersonal and team-related skills
Knowledge of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention
Experience in managing the environment to ensure safety
Combination of experience with First Nation, Metis and/or Inuit culture
Experience working under pressure and in high-stress situations
Good verbal and written communication skills
Organization and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Experience and understanding of health issues, such as FASD, addictions, intergenerational trauma and suicidal tendencies
