Applying to the Candidate Pool will keep your application on file for six (6) months. We may pre-screen candidates for temporary employment opportunities that arise.
Job description and tasks
In addition to regular teaching responsibilities, the role also includes:
Involvement in pedagogical days organized by the College
Participation in departmental meetings
Involvement in student-focused activities such as field trips, competitions, and year-end Graduate Exhibition.
Performing other department related administrative duties
Required Qualifications
Professional Theatre 561
Master’s degree in arts or fine arts (Theatre) or in relevant discipline and three (3) years professional experience in a relevant field OR University degree in relevant (theatre-related) discipline and five (5) years professional experience in a relevant field
Demonstrable teaching ability/potential in one or more Professional Theatre teaching categories (to be determined through the interview process and documentation)
Teaching experience at the college level strongly recommended
Excellent English communication skills essential
D.E.C. in Theatre an asset
General knowledge of French is an asset.
Drama 560 and History and Literature 561

Note: Dance: Style and Form 560-923-DW falls under Professional Theatre 561
In order to be considered for a full-time teaching load, candidates must be qualified to teach courses in at least three of the following seven categories and enough courses must be available in those categories to constitute a full time load:
Movement for Actors-Stage Movement
Improvisation
Voice and Speech
Acting
History and Literature of Theatre
Text
Drama (560)
In order to be considered for a full teaching load, candidates teaching any of the specialized courses in Category 8 must be able to teach courses in at least three of the other seven categories:
Specialized courses
Make-up
Technical Theatre
Studio voice
Singing
Sword Fighting/Stage Combat
Acting before the Camera
Career Management
