POSITION: Production Workers

REPORTS TO POSITION: Supervisor RRC

DEPARTMENT: Remanufacturing & Repair Centre

LOCATION: North Bay

REFERENCE: 390-34B-25

RATE OF PAY: $24.67 – $27.40/hour (Increases set out as per the collective agreement.
Full rate effective after 1 year of service)

ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT:

The Production Worker will work with the other trades adhering to production schedules in a safe manner.

MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

Works independently and with other trades in the remanufacturing and repair of equipment used in the transportation industry
Works from blueprints, sketches, manufacturer’s patterns, circuit diagrams or schematics, and construction specifications
Uses hand and power tools commonly used in the industry
Adapts to new methods, processes, material and equipment
Follows prescribed safety procedures including the use of safety clothing and equipment
May work various shifts and on weekends and some work outdoors in adverse weather
Performs other related duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

Secondary School Diploma or General Educational Diploma (GED)
Must be mechanically inclined
Experience in finish carpentry, window and flooring installation considered an asset
Proficient in reading, interpreting and working from blueprints
Good interpersonal and communication skills (oral & written)
Excellent organizational and planning skills
Has knowledge of safety codes and has demonstrated ability to work in a safety conscious manner
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
Must be committed to Company Health and Safety
Must be able to work shift work
