We are growing and seeking a driven and hands-on Production Manager to lead operations for a dedicated product line. This is a high-impact role responsible for establishing, optimizing, and scaling production while leading a team of approximately 35 employees.
Position Summary
The Production Manager will take ownership of a specific product line, overseeing all aspects of its production operations and supervising a team of approximately 35 employees. This role will work closely with engineering, project management, and leadership to stand up processes, build team capability, and ensure efficient, high-quality output as the product line grows. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives in a build-and-improve environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all production activities for a designated product line from launch through full-scale production
- Directly supervise, coach, and develop a team of approximately 35 production employees
- Develop and implement production processes, workflows, and standard operating procedures
- Partner with engineering and project management to transition products from design into production
- Follow production schedules and ensure alignment with project timelines and customer demands
- Monitor performance metrics and drive continuous improvement in efficiency, quality, and throughput
- Identify and resolve production challenges, bottlenecks, and resource constraints
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, OSHA regulations, and company policies
- Collaborate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure material readiness
- Support scaling efforts as the product line expands
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Experience managing teams
- Strong understanding of production processes, workflow design, and quality control
- Proven leadership ability with experience building and developing teams
- Experience with ERP systems and production reporting tools preferred
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement practices is a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods on the production floor
- Frequent movement between office and manufacturing areas
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures
- Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) when in production areas
