Industrial Molding Company is actively searching for an outstanding individual to lead our third shift production team.
This supervisory position directs and coordinates all activities on our injected thermoplastics plant floor, and is responsible for the performance of the team, product output, machine efficiency, part quality, and meeting production goals. This position is expected to have full competency in both management and operational performance. Supervisory experience is required- individuals with natural leadership, strength of character, and people skills are ideal.
Specific on the job training will be provided; however, any experience with manufacturing operations, lean manufacturing, and process improvement is a plus. Awareness and experience with a safety-first environment is also desired.
Third shift hours are from 10:45 PM – 7:15 AM, with competitive pay starting at $22.00 per hour; however, overtime is expected with this role along with overtime compensation. This position will require regular and frequent walking, standing, reaching, grasping, stooping, kneeling, crawling, talking, and hearing. Familiarity with the IQMS ERP system is a plus.
Essential job responsibilities are:
· Deploy production operations for molding, assembling and finishing, establishing priorities and sequences for assembling products, utilizing knowledge of production processes and methods, machine and equipment capabilities, and manpower requirements
· Reports corrective action to mitigate machines not performing properly
· Manage safety policies and procedures for assigned shift, and investigate and report accidents immediately
· Verify that all steps on each control plan are being completed and parts inspected properly; this includes monitoring the employees responsible for the product they are assigned to handle, the frequency and all requirements.
· Successfully lead and function within a team environment and be able to adapt to change
· Fully complete and submit a daily checklist
· Inspect machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization
· Train and coach all team members on assigned shift and coordinate production processes
· Supervise shift employees, including hiring, performing appraisals, coaching, disciplinary actions, and terminations in conjunction with the Human Resource Manager.
· Verify end of shift Production, Scrap, and Labor Reporting.
· Ensure machine operations are properly maintained and equipment promptly repaired
· Promote and maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment through 5S activities and be responsible for proper waste disposal
· Sustain and drive lean manufacturing and 5S activities
· Act as communications hub for the team regarding inter-departmental communications
· Daily verification of production effectiveness and efficiencies in accordance with Business Excellence objectives
· Verifies that all procedures, requirements, and inspections identified in Control Plan are being performed and are in compliance in all molding floors
· Works with Quality Assurance to set up a rework process when a part is found nonconforming or returned from a customer
· Documents and notifies Quality of process failures detected during inspection verbally and in writing
