PRODUCE PROGRAM MERCHANDISER Jobs in Saint Clairsville, OH at Riesbeck Food Markets
JOB FUNCTION: Responsible for carrying out merchandising programs for assigned products. Assist in determining the type of items, quality, grades, and brands. Recommend retail prices as appropriate. Develop shelf allocation and spacing programs, product promotions, and point-of-purchase display programs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Accountable for developing, implementing, and maintaining department merchandising plan including special events and promotions for all produce departments.
2. Responsible for the research and development of quality products.
3. Observe local conditions and competitive activity pertaining to the department.
4. Be fully knowledgeable and familiar with the nature and duties of every staff position in the department.
5. Ensure compliance with all federal and state health regulations, weights and measures laws, and labeling requirements. Report irregularities to director of operations.
6. Responsible for mentoring department manager and produce associates.
7. Provide input into selection of department managers and performance evaluations of these individuals.
8. Maintain positive communications in the department and throughout the organization.
9. Notify Produce Program Director and Store Operator of personnel situations or policy violations having an adverse effect on store operating performance.
10. Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the department-merchandising plan, including special events and promotions in coordination with the Produce Program Director.
11. Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures throughout deli/food service program.
12. Able to occasionally exert or lift up to 70 pounds.
13. Possess the math skills necessary to calculate gross margins, percentages, and ad losses.
14. Able to hear, speak, and understand the spoken word.
15. Able to read, write, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language.
16. Perform other duties and assignments as requested by corporate management.
