The Procurement & Inventory Coordinator is responsible for managing purchasing activities, inventory control, and materials coordination to support manufacturing operations. This role ensures the timely procurement of raw materials, packaging, and operational supplies while maintaining accurate inventory levels to meet production demands and minimize disruptions.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in a manufacturing environment with a strong understanding of procurement and inventory management processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the purchasing of raw materials, packaging, production supplies, and other operational materials.
  • Create and track purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of materials and supplies.
  • Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate inventory records within company systems.
  • Work closely with production and operations teams to ensure materials are available to support manufacturing schedules.
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding pricing, lead times, delivery schedules, and order discrepancies.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory variances and material shortages.
  • Conduct cycle counts and assist with physical inventory counts as required.
  • Maintain organized procurement and inventory documentation and records.
  • Support inventory accuracy, stock control, and material flow processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve purchasing efficiency and inventory management practices.
  • Assist in evaluating supplier performance and maintaining vendor relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and health and safety requirements.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, inventory control, or materials coordination within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management and purchasing processes.
  • Experience working with ERP systems or inventory management software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting manufacturing or production operations.
  • Knowledge of supply chain and material planning processes.
  • Experience with cycle counting and inventory reconciliation.
  • Ability to analyze inventory trends and purchasing requirements.

Working Conditions

  • Manufacturing and warehouse environment.
  • Combination of office and production floor interaction.
  • May require occasional lifting, inventory handling, and participation in physical inventory counts.
