Introduction
We are hiring a Procurement Contractor for our client, Eli Lilly, a leading global pharmaceutical company.
This role supports the Procurement team by managing day-to-day operational and transactional activities to ensure smooth and efficient procurement processes. The contractor will play a key role in maintaining vendor relationships, supporting purchasing activities, and ensuring accurate data and reporting—while adhering to internal policies and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Support purchase order (PO) creation and sourcing requests from internal stakeholders.
- Follow up with suppliers on order confirmations, delivery timelines, and discrepancies.
- Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate stakeholders and maintain tracking logs.
- Coordinate with Finance and Accounts Payable to resolve invoice issues and payment delays.
- Follow up with vendors on missing or incorrect invoices.
- Support vendor onboarding processes and maintain vendor records.
- Maintain and update contract trackers, including renewal timelines and status updates.
- Organize and file contracts and related documentation within procurement systems.
- Enter and maintain vendor master data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain procurement dashboards, trackers, and reporting tools.
- Support preparation of procurement summaries and spend reports.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and suppliers to resolve routine issues.
- Ensure all activities are compliant with internal procurement policies, data privacy requirements, and applicable regulations.
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, or administrative support roles.
- Familiarity with SAP or other procurement systems (e.g., Ariba).
- Experience supporting accounts payable or invoice reconciliation processes.
- Exposure to working in a corporate or regulated environment.
- Experience maintaining databases and generating reports.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong written communication skills for vendor and stakeholder interactions.
- Comfortable working with procurement systems and maintaining data accuracy.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.
