Overview

TRS is currently working with a mid-sized engineering and fabrication firm with over a decade of successful operations seeking an experienced PROCESS ENGINEER (Process Design & Fabrication) to join its growing team. The company delivers nimble, flexible solutions for mid to upper-tier projects across domestic and international markets. This role offers technical depth, mentorship opportunities, and involvement in diverse projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for process design, equipment sizing, and simulation for projects in the natural gas liquids (NGL) sector and related areas. The position requires close collaboration with estimators and project managers, as well as participation in quote simulations and bidding processes.

Work Location: Edmonton or Calgary based

Employment Type: Permanent Full-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and review P&IDs, perform markups, and ensure compliance with design standards.
  • Conduct equipment sizing for vessels, control valves, towers, and PSV (Pressure Safety Valve) calculations.
  • Perform process simulations for gas processing plants, dehydration units, and other systems.
  • Stamp drawings as a P.Eng (required).
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.

Technical Expertise Required

  • Strong background in process engineering for amine plants and dehydration units.
  • Must have process design and fabrication experiences.
  • Proficiency in equipment sizing and PSV calculations.
  • Experience with natural gas liquids (NGL) and fabrication environments.
  • Familiarity with P&t and markups.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Exposure to turbo-expanders and related technologies.
  • Experience in fabrication-focused environments.
  • Background in both EPC and fabrication (senior EPC or intermediate fabricator level).
  • International project exposure (South America, North Africa).
