THE JOB
As a Printing Press Operator, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and quality output of our presses. Your duties will include conducting changeovers of presses, monitoring print quality, maintaining production records, and handling rolls on the lumber wrap press. You’ll also be involved in loading and doffing rolls, removing, and reinstalling shafts and cylinders, and mixing ink according to prescribed formulas.
While you’ll receive specific instructions and guidance from supervisors, you’ll also be expected to work independently, making decisions regarding print color, press operation, and general work activities. Planning and organizing tasks, such as determining supply levels and output roll requirements, will be part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you’ll provide guidance to Assistant Printing Press Operators and Material Handlers, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to
safety protocols

REQUIREMENTS
Candidates for this role must possess a high school diploma, ensuring proficiency in reading plant orders, equipment instructions, and safety features. Additional qualifications such as First Aid and CPR certification are preferred. The role requires approximately 7 to 12 months of
on-the-job learning
to familiarize oneself with the job’s various components and develop the ability to troubleshoot print quality issues effectively.
