Due to ongoing growth, we are currently looking for our next exceptional co-worker for a Press Operator role.
Rotating Shifts, days & afternoons
Summary:
Primarily responsible for ensuring that the KBA Press is operating in an efficient manner and that the quality of the product achieves excellence in accordance to ISO standards. To maintain a strong working relationship with the Press Feeder Assistant through providing additional support and assistance as identified.
Responsibilities:
Conduct colour layout to determine which colour goes on which unit
Set ink fountains, on the press, ensure the plates are on properly, line up colours for register and make any adjustments necessary for press set up
Verify colours to samples or specs
Call area leader or production foremen for job inspection and approval to run
Run Press
Enter set up and run data into Imaginera System as required or instruct feeder to do so
Keep constant check on colour consistency and quality
Report any quality problems to the area leader
Run jobs as efficiently as possible
Oversee the work of all other in the crew
Keep area clean and neat and ensure machinery maintenance is up to date
Ensure all safety and personal protection equipment is in place and properly used
Sundry tasks as assigned by the press area leader or the Production Supervisor/Scheduler/Die Cut
Requirements:
Must have 5+ years press operator experience
Secondary School Completion or GED equivalent (grade 12) or related skills
Intermediate level of familiarity with computer usage
The ability to use problem solving / judgement skills, particularly when examining quality protocols
