3 years to less than 5 years or equivalent experience Work setting Metal product fabrication industry Sheet metal shop Tasks Check products for correct shapes, dimensions and other specifications Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment Cut, bend, roll, ream, punch, drill, weld or otherwise shape and form metal stock into parts or products Investigate problems to fix or make minor repair Lay out, set up and operate one or more light or heavy metalworking machines Operate presses or other forging machines to perform hot or cold forging to shape or form metal Position and adjust dies on anvil of forging machinery Read and interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions Equipment and machinery experience Brakes Hand tools Power presses Shears Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines Brakes and presses Press brakes and metalworking equipment Metal forming or shaping operations experience Bending Flattening Forming Straightening Work conditions and physical capabilities
