Overview

President Jobs in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada at Family Stewardship Centre

Title: President

Company: Family Stewardship Centre

Location: Victoria, British Columbia, Canada

Are you the first President of the Family Stewardship Foundation?

A call to build with love, then steward.

Somewhere along the way, we lost the village.

We lost the guidance that carries families through birth, becoming, and belonging.

We lost the shared responsibility of raising children in community.

We normalized doing it alone.

We are building something different.

The Family Stewardship Foundation is restoring ceremony to the milestones of family life, from birth

to becoming ancestors.

We are training and mobilizing a new profession of Family Stewards, so no

family walks these thresholds unsupported.

We dream of a network of Family Stewardship Centres across Turtle Island.

Now, we are calling in a volunteer President to help us bring the Family Stewardship Movement into form, and then ensure it lasts.

This is a responsibility to the generations.

This is not a static leadership role. It is a two-phase stewardship:

Years 1–2: Builder and Connector

You will help us bring the Family Stewardship movement to life. This role works in close partnership with the Founder, with shared decision-making authority across operations and external relationships, while the Founder continues to steward vision, narrative, and movement direction.

● Establish core operational systems for the Foundation

● Secure initial multi-source funding (grants, partners, or philanthropic investment)

● Formalize 3–5 key institutional or Nation-based partnerships

● Support the path toward opening the first Family Stewardship Centre

Beyond Year 2: Governance and Legacy Steward

As the Foundation stabilizes, your role evolves to focus on long-term stewardship:

● Guide governance, policy, and accountability structures that support the opening and

sustainability of the first Family Stewardship Centre

● Protect the integrity of the model as it grows and scales

● Support long-term relationships with Nations, funders, and institutional partners

● Shift from day-to-day building toward sustainability, mentorship, and legacy stewardship

Who this role is calling in

You may be a strong fit if you:

● Have built or scaled an initiative, organization, or movement

● Are experienced in fundraising, partnerships, or systems-building

● Can move between strategy and execution with ease

● Understand how to work in relationship with Indigenous leadership and community priorities

● Lead with accountability, integrity, and care

● Feel a genuine call to strengthening families and community

● Make ceremony, community care, and relational well-being part of your life

● Can offer approximately 8–10 hours per week during the initial build phase (Years 1–2), with flexibility as the Foundation stabilizes.

We recognize this is a meaningful commitment. We are open to shaping this role based on capacity, and will work toward sustainable compensation as funding is established.

What you’ll be part of:

● This is an active build phase, with clear priorities and a steady pace of progress toward

defined milestones.

● This role includes weekly collaboration with the Founder and monthly Wise Council gatherings,

with additional time dedicated to advancing priority work.

● Growing a movement across Southern Vancouver Island and beyond

● The creation of a new profession: Family Stewards

● A legacy project: building a Family Stewardship Centre as a place of belonging
