Sign Team Inc. is a fast growing large format print and sign shop looking for a sharp, detail oriented Prepress Specialist to join our team. If you live in the details, know your way around print files, and get excited about using AI to work smarter, we want to meet you.
What you’ll do:
Prepare and preflight files for large format printing, review and correct customer files for print readiness including bleeds, color profiles, resolution, cut lines and safe zones. Communicate professionally with customers when files need corrections or clarification. Prioritize and manage multiple jobs simultaneously keeping production moving efficiently. Submit and manage jobs through RIP software with Caldera or Onyx experience being a plus. Use AI tools and automation daily to improve and streamline prepress workflows. Collaborate closely with the production team to meet deadlines and maintain quality. Proactively communicate when jobs are delayed or have file issues before they become problems on the production floor.
What we’re looking for:
Core skills required: Strong working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Acrobat, Adobe Photoshop proficiency, PDF preflight and correction including bleeds, color profiles, resolution and transparency, color management knowledge including RGB vs CMYK and ICC profiles, vector vs raster expertise knowing when to redraw, trace or rasterize, understanding of print file specs for large format including bleed, safe zones and cut contours, and clear professional communication written and verbal with both customers and team members.
Preferred experience: Large format print production background, RIP software experience with Caldera or Onyx, knowledge of substrates and how material affects file preparation, and solid file organization and naming conventions for production environments.
AI and technology: We are looking for someone who actively uses AI tools daily including image generation, file cleanup, background removal and image upscaling. We want someone genuinely interested in building or using automation to reduce repetitive prepress tasks and always looking for smarter faster ways to work.
