Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, slicing, and chopping to support the kitchen’s food production needs
- Follow recipes precisely to ensure consistency and adherence to menu standards
- Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, slicers, ovens, and food processors safely and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety standards
- Assist with meal assembly and plating under the supervision of chefs or kitchen managers
- Support the team by stocking supplies, organizing storage areas, and managing inventory levels
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate food prep activities and ensure smooth kitchen operations
Experience
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Hands-on food preparation or cooking experience in a restaurant or catering setting is preferred
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and safety standards in production environments is essential
- Familiarity with menu planning, recipe adherence, and food handling techniques is beneficial
- Strong knife skills, slicing techniques, and familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment are important
- Experience working in a fast-paced food service environment demonstrates your ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and other team members
