This full-time position is based at Elmwood Manufacturing at 161 Caledonia Rd, Moncton, New Brunswick.

Position Overview:

The Prehung Door Assembler is responsible for assembling complete prehung door units, including door slabs, jambs, hinges, stops, thresholds, and related components. This role requires accuracy, consistency, and efficiency to meet production targets while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Work Schedule:

Full-Time, Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble prehung door units according to specifications and work orders
  • Install door slabs into frames, ensuring correct alignment, spacing, and swing
  • Attach hinges, door stops, weatherstripping, thresholds, and related components
  • Square, level, and secure jamb assemblies to meet quality and fit standards
  • Measure and verify door assemblies for accuracy and functionality
  • Operate hand tools and pneumatic tools (e.g., drills, hinge tools, nail guns)
  • Inspect materials and finished prehung units for defects or assembly errors
  • Identify and report quality issues, damaged materials, or equipment concerns
  • Maintain steady production output while minimizing rework and waste
  • Label, stack, and prepare completed prehung doors for wrapping or shipping
  • Keep workstation clean, organized, and safe.
  • Follow all health and safety policies and wear required PPE
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily production goals

Skills and Qualifications:

· Experience in manufacturing or assembly is an asset (prehung doors preferred)

· Comfortable working with door frames, slabs, and hardware

· Ability to read measurements and follow work orders or instructions

· Strong attention to detail and quality

· Good hand-eye coordination and basic mechanical aptitude

· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, repetitive environment

· Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused

· Willingness to learn and cross-train on different door setups

· Bilingual (English/French) is considered an asset

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and maneuver door units and components (up to 50 lbs.)
  • Repetitive use of hands, arms, and wrists
  • Ability to bend, reach, and work at varying heights

Work Environment

· Indoor manufacturing plant

· Exposure to noise, dust, and powered tools

· Personal protective equipment (PPE) always required

Working Relationships:

· Reports directly to the Door Plant Production Supervisor

· Works closely with the manufacturing team

Pay: $16.00-$24.50 per hour
