Responsibilities:
Pre-Edit Technician is a crucial role in our organization. The Pre-Edit technician has a direct impact on the quality, efficiency and productivity of our in-home technician work force. To be proficient in this role, the Pre-Edit technician must have tremendous skill in interpreting what will be required to ensure the responding technician has all the resources he needs to be able to complete the repair on the first service visit. Also required are strong communication skills, with the ability to adapt the conversation depending on the audience; these could be conversations with technicians, technical contacts at the manufacturer, or internal and external customers. Another required attribute is the innate desire to assist and improve our ability to meet our customer service targets; thinking “outside the box” to identify opportunities to improve our service execution, and assisting in implementing any changes needed. In short, this role needs a person who is dedicated to constant and never-ending improvement, and has the skills to achieve success.
- Review and trouble-shoot field appliance service repair events and preorder any parts required to assist in repairing appliance on first technician visit
- Provide technical support to appliance technicians by phone and email as requested
- Review field technician service repair events for parts ordering accuracy as required
Qualifications:
- Strong appliance service technical/trouble-shooting knowledge, either through experience as an appliance service technician, or extensive experience in a support role in an appliance parts/service organization
- Strong ability to pre-diagnose/troubleshoot appliance service repair events in order to support company objectives in completing a high percentage of appliance service repair events on the initial service visit (First Time Complete)
- Strong computer skills, familiarity with all manufacturer technical and parts websites
- Strong communication skills; both telephone and email.
- Ability to adapt communication style to various internal and external audiences
