Powder Coating Line Operator
This position is responsible for supporting the conveyorized powder coating system consisting of a 3-stage wash system, dry off and bake ovens, spray booths with automatic and manual guns.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Analysis and adjustment of wash system chemicals.
- Ensure the line is properly inspected.
- Set-up and clean or direct the cleaning of powder coating line and booths.
- Hang the product on powder coating line
- Transfer completed product from the line to the Shipping Department using handcarts.
- Determine coating quality by performing visual inspections.
- Cleaning spray guns and booths as required.
- Understand and meet or exceed daily productivity requirements.
- Active involvement in continuous improvement activities and initiatives.
- Operate and maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.
Experience/Qualifications
- Preferred high school diploma or GED.
- Preferred 2 years’ experience operating a powder coating line with wash/rinse stages
- Previous work experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous work experience in a team atmosphere.
Physical Demands
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work an 8+ hour shift standing, bending and reaching throughout the duration of your shift
- Consistently works in a noisy and hot environment
- Occasionally, moving equipment and parts requiring upwards of 50lbs of force
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to a dusty environment from powder paint and high temperatures.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m with potential of overtime. Applicant must be able to work weekends or evening hours if necessary. Rate of pay will be based on experience.
