Position Summary The Weaver Medicinal Chemistry Research Lab at the Krembil Research Institute is a multi-disciplinary research group consisting of computational and synthetic chemists, biochemists, molecular biologists, and behavioural neuroscientists. Our goal is to design and develop new therapeutic molecules for the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s Disease. As a Postdoctoral Researcher in Medicinal Synthetic Chemistry you will help design and synthesize new chemical entity small molecules as putative drug platforms.

You will

work closely with our computational chemists and biologists.

Duties

Conduct multi-step synthesis of small molecules using state of the art synthetic chemistry techniques Maintain lab book and data records Assist in preparation of grant applications, and publications Assist and supervise undergraduate and graduate students as required Follow all

safety protocols

Follows process for ordering, receiving and maintaining lab supplies Updates and uses chemical inventory as required Qualifications in synthetic organic chemistry or synthetic medicinal chemistry obtained within the past 5 years Significant experience and expertise in synthetic organic chemistry Solid documentation and organizational skills

Ability to

collaborate with scientists from other disciplines integrating data from non-chemistry sources

Must be

able to work in a large,

diverse
