Full job description
Team Horizon is looking for a skilled landscape maintenance lead hand to support our growing post-sub division with the ability to progress into a supervisory role leading their own crew. Join our team as a Post Sub Lead Hand and play a vital role in assisting our Post Substantial team with field work related to landscape construction projects. This role involves maintaining commercial, strata, and municipal sites, as well as assessing and rectifying hardscape deficiencies.
Responsibilities
Assist the Post Sub Field Manager with assigned tasks on job sites.
Assume responsibility for the team/project when the Field Manager is unavailable.
Ensure all equipment is well-maintained and in good working order.
Complete required training on equipment and company policies.
Act as a company ambassador, providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a professional demeanor.
Participate in safety meetings and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
Qualifications
Education:
Completion of Secondary School preferred.
Post-secondary education in horticulture is an asset.
Industry certifications such as Red Seal or Certified Landscape Technician are beneficial.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years progressive industry experience.
Experience in outdoor, laborious positions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of local plant life.
Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Previous experience with landscape machinery.
Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Computer literate, with proficiency in iPhone applications.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Physical Requirements:
Good physical condition, able to lift weights exceeding 50 lbs and perform laborious tasks.
Work Environment:
Outdoor work environment, subject to varied weather conditions.
Compensation Information
Starting base wage of $25-27/hour based on experience.
Vacation pay paid out on each paycheck.
Extended Health Benefits (Health, Dental, Vision) available after 90 days.
RRSP Enrollment with hourly matching after 365 days.
Company bonus eligibility after 1 year of employment.
