We are currently accepting applications for the position of Port Security Site Supervisor, DP World Saint John. In this full-time role you’ll be responsible for all aspects of Paladin’s day to day business at your site; you are the frontline representative and extension of the Paladin Management Team.

This position requires strong social awareness, professional demeanor, and exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Position Details:

Position: Full Time Site Supervisor

Site: Port of Saint John (Main Terminal)

Overtime: Overtime (excess of 48 hours)

Hours: 40

Payrate: $ 24/hour

WHAT YOU WILL DO

In this role, you get the chance to work alongside other port-related and logistics services. As a Port Security Site Supervisor, your main duties will include anticipating and addressing inquiries, hazards, obstacles, and traffic concerns, patrolling the facility regularly, ensuring authorized entry to secure areas only, writing detailed incident reports, and complying with the Marine Transportation Security Regulations. Make sure that the schedule is maintained and all Paladin employees working at the site are in compliance with our client demands.

Key responsibilities:

  • Patrol Grounds: Conduct regular rounds of the premises, including parking areas, buildings, entrances, and exits, to ensure the safety and security of the site.
  • Monitor Surveillance Systems: Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the appropriate authorities.
  • Access Control
    :
    Monitor and control entry points, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed access to restricted areas.
  • Respond to Emergencies: Act quickly in emergency situations, such as fire alarms, or security threats. Assist staff as needed.
  • Report Writing: Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately. Complete reports on incidents, breaches, and security concerns.
  • Enforce Policies: Ensure that our client policies, including visitor and their employees, are followed. Address any violations in a manner that upholds our client safety standards.
  • Prerequisites:

  • English (oral and written) fluency is a must
  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
  • Must be able to provide certifications in Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
  • Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin’s MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
  • Please be aware:
    The MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
