About the Role

The Policy and Reward Specialist plays a key role in the development, delivery, end-to-end processes, maintenance, and revision of total rewards (compensation and benefits) and policy programs for LNG Canada employees. This is a term position, intended for approximately three years, designed as a joint-accountability role to bolster overall capacity, and ensure business continuity through stabilization.

In this role, you’ll support critical initiatives that ensure we have the components of a competitive and affordable Employee Value Proposition for LNG Canada.

You will use your expertise to:

Total Rewards & Policy:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to HR and business leaders on complex total rewards and policy matters.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts, reviewing policies and programs within your area of expertise.
  • Analyze market trends, cost impacts, and regulatory changes to ensure competitiveness and compliance.
  • Maintain consistency in policy application across businesses, functions, and employee groups.
  • Develop and execute communication strategies for total rewards and policy updates.
  • Manage cross-functional projects, engaging diverse stakeholders to drive outcomes.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and service delivery, acting as the primary liaison.
  • Address and resolve escalated issues from HR colleagues or external service providers.
  • Ensure adherence to privacy, confidentiality, and internal audit requirements.
  • Represent the company in external industry networks and benchmarking initiatives.
  • Support change management efforts on initiatives with broad employee impact.

Benefits Administration:

  • Oversee daily benefits and pension administration, ensuring accurate interpretation and execution of plan provisions.
  • Manage the annual benefits enrollment process, including recommendations, implementation, and employee communication.
  • Develop and deliver clear, accessible benefits and pension communication materials such as booklets, summaries, and educational sessions.
  • Research and analyze market trends, legal updates, and competitive practices to enhance benefit offerings.
  • Provide guidance and leadership in disability management and pension processes.
  • Handle escalated and complex benefits and pension issues, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Support employees through the disability process, answering benefit-related inquiries.
  • Manage the employee/spouse/dependent death benefits and pension process, including coordination with beneficiaries and legal representatives.
  • Lead implementation of new or modified benefit and pension programs, ensuring smooth transitions.


To be successful, you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5–7+ years of HR experience, including both generalist and specialist roles in total rewards or policy.
  • Deep understanding of HR policies, group benefit and pension plans.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret large data sets and complex information.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and navigate ambiguity.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, high-level overviews.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influence skills, including the ability to build consensus at various levels.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
  • Proven experience managing projects and leading change initiatives.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and UKG.
