Dunkley Lumber Ltd. is a respected family-owned company headquartered in Strathnaver, just 75 km south of Prince George, B.C. We operate a modern and efficient dimension sawmill and planer mill producing high-quality lumber products sold across North America and in overseas markets. Additionally, Dunkley operates sawmill facilities in Grande Cache, Alberta, and Carrot River, Saskatchewan.

We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Planting Implementation Assistant for the 2026 season, supporting the implementation of our spring and summer planting programs across multiple locations in B.C.

This position offers exposure to a variety of landscapes and forestry operations, with work beginning in early May in B.C.’s interior and progressing toward northeastern B.C., concluding around mid-August at the northernmost end of Williston Lake.

The successful candidate must be flexible, comfortable working in outdoor environments, and able to adapt to changing conditions while supporting a range of field-based tasks throughout the season.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct daily planting quality inspections in accordance with FS704 guidelines and Dunkley specifications
  • Communicate daily with your supervisor on planting quality observations
  • Monitor seedling stock in reefers to ensure proper handling and storage conditions
  • Maintain daily records in Plant Wizard

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications, experience, and technical skills:

  • Valid Class 5 B.C. driver’s license with a safe driving record
  • Multiple seasons of tree planting or planting quality checking experience is required
  • Familiarity with FS704 Planting Inspection Guidelines and experience using Plant Wizard
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Willingness and ability to live and work in remote or camp-based environments
  • Comfortable working in a variety of outdoor field conditions
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team

Salary will range from $5,500 to $8,000 per month, based on experience and qualifications.
