We want consistent and predictable operations done the right way, every time. Plains is looking for an experienced Pipeline Technician to work on our pipeline systems in the Rainbow Lake – Zama area that will report directly to the Peace River-Rainbow Lake Area Supervisor for Pipelines.
The Pipeline Technician is responsible for working directly with tank farm and pipeline operations involving product movement, sampling & analysis of crude oil, pigging & corrosion related pipeline tasks, and asset protection practices. The Technician will also be expected to assist and troubleshoot with mechanical support on rotating equipment, valves, pressure relief devices, and other related piping equipment in hydrocarbon service while on shift.
This role has a rotating shift working 8 days on and 6 days off in a compressed work week of 10 hours per day over 8 days. A Thursday-to-Thursday rotation will be required for this role.

Responsibilities:
Ability and willingness to work within pipeline operations, area-based projects, and process/pipeline maintenance.
Ensure preventative maintenance programs and guidelines for all process equipment is adhered.
Ensure compliance on sampling, measurement, and tank gauging procedures to verify on over/short balances.
Understand and adhere to company safety practices, procedures and policies.
Generate service requests, track and complete work orders, complete detailed work logs in MAXIMO.
Operate light duty machinery including skid steers, forklifts, man-lifts, and picker truck.
Periodic inspection and calibration of process equipment, and general site/building maintenance and housekeeping.
Ensure compliance with Regulatory Directives, Alberta One Call & Ground Disturbance program;
Provide support during non-business hours within the expectations of an on-call rotation.
Troubleshoot, maintain and assist MM craftsmen with repair all stationary and rotating mechanical equipment
Qualifications:
Experienced pipeline operations background with mechanical aptitude on process and related equipment.
Minimum Grade XII and Journeyman Millwright or Heavy
– Duty Mechanic trade or 3rd year Apprentice.
Knowledge in the operation and maintenance of pumps, valves, relief valves, and other equipment.
