Job Description-Pest Control Technician-Tuff Turf Molebusters
Tuff Turf Molebusters is West Michigan’s leading lawn care and pest control provider—and the largest, most professional mole control company in the state. We proudly serve the Grand Rapids, Lakeshore, and Kalamazoo areas, offering mole and vole control, mosquito control, lawn fertilization, and additional outdoor services.
As our company continues to grow, we are seeking a dependable, detail‑oriented Pest Control Technician to join our team. This is a full‑time, seasonal role (March–November) with opportunities for overtime. Compensation is based on experience and certifications. MDARD Core, 7A, and 7F certifications are preferred; study materials are provided for first‑time applicant.
What You Will Do
- Manage a daily service route using a mobile device
- Treat customers’ properties to control moles, voles, and chipmunks
- Apply mosquito and general insect control treatments around homes and outdoor areas
- Collaborate with team members to achieve high-quality results
- Diagnose pest issues and problem‑solve in the field
Schedule
Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–5:00 PM
Some Saturdays and overtime may be required due to weather delays.
Compensation
$18-$22 based on certifications and experience.
Departments & Equipment
We operate two pest control divisions:
Mole Department
- Uses physical traps and small backpack equipment to control moles, voles, and chipmunks
Mosquito Department
- Treats the exterior of homes and surrounding property to reduce mosquito and insect activity

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Michigan driver’s license with a clean driving record (required for insurance)
- Ability to pass State of Michigan certification exams (study materials provided)
- Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Preferred Experience (Bonus):
- Operating company vehicles and equipment daily
- Previous pest control industry experience
- MDARD certifications in Core, 7A, and 7F
Physical Requirements
This role requires:
- Regular standing, walking, bending, and lifting
- Working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Safely lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds
- Carrying and operating backpack equipment for extended periods
