Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced, dependable, and professional Personal Support Worker to provide care for an individual with personal support needs. This role requires confidence in managing high acuity situations, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to consistent, high quality care.
This role focuses on assisting with morning routines before attending a day program and providing support upon return home. There are no daytime hours during the week, aside from weekends.
Schedule:
- Early mornings (pre–day program support)
- Late afternoons/evenings (post–day program support)
- Weekend daytime availability required
- No weekday daytime shifts
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide full, hands on assistance with all aspects of personal care
- Safely administer medications in accordance with established protocols
- Monitor and respond to seizure activity with conHdence and competence
- Support all daily routines consistenly
- Prepare meals in accordance with kosher dietary requirements
- Provide care for a non-verbal individual, utilizing appropriate communication

- Maintain a safe, structured, and respectful home environment
- Accurately document care and report any changes or concerns
Mandatory Qualifications (Applicants must meet ALL requirements):
- Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate or equivalent relevant experience
- Current CPR/First Aid certification
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check (within 1 year)
- Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with complex medical and personal
- care needs
- Proven experience with seizure management
- Strong professional references
Preferred (Strong Assets):
- Crisis Prevention/Intervention training (e.g., CPI, Safe Management or equivalent)
- Experience supporting non-verbal individuals
- Familiarity with kosher food preparation practices
- Experience working in home care or specialized care settings
