We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Payroll Clerk to join our dynamic finance team! Duties
- Manage payroll processing using platforms such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Enter and verify data related to employee hours, benefits, deductions, and tax information with precision.
- Reconcile payroll accounts through general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, and journal entries.
- Maintain and update employee records within HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and other payroll software.
- Assist with benefits administration, including tracking leave accruals and processing benefit deductions.
- Support accounts payable and receivable functions related to payroll transactions.
- Ensure compliance with governmental regulations by preparing tax filings and supporting audits related to payroll.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with payroll management systems such as Workday, Kronos, Ceridian, or PeopleSoft.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Familiarity with accounting software like QuickBooks or similar financial tools.
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; proficiency in 10 key typing is preferred.
- Understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations related to payroll processing.
- Experience with benefits administration and non-profit or governmental accounting is a plus.
- Strong analysis skills combined with effective communication abilities in a human resources context.
