Position Description

The Children¿s Orthotics Clinic services both outpatient and inpatients who require a variety of different orthopaedic devices to help children achieve their activities of daily living. We are currently hiring for a summer student placement as a patient information clerk.

Here¿s What You¿ll get to do

Work alongside our clinicians and technicians to maintain our patient flow within the Orthotics Clinic.
Work closely with patients to create a welcoming environment upon entering the clinic and act as a resource for families for future appointments.
Will be an integral part of the team and act as the link between the patients and the clinicians to ensure that exemplary patient care is achieved.
Communicating with patients and their families to schedule appointments for the Orthotics Clinic.
Creating efficient patient flow within the clinic by registering patients, checking patients in and out, ensuring rooms are clean after the patient visit and communicating with the clinician the needs of the patient.
Create patient files for billing paperwork.

Here¿s What You¿ll need:

Postsecondary student.
Proficiency with computers is essential (i.e. word processing, excel file).
Strong customer service orientation.
Strong communication, interpersonal and organization skills.
Demonstrated problem solving abilities.
Ability be self-directed, flexible and to take initiative.
A commitment to understanding and aiding in the pursuit of equity, diversity & inclusion.

Employment Type; 4-month temporary part time summer position. 0.40FTE
