Position Overview
The Pastor of Outreach and Operations serves as a key bridge between the vision of the Lead Pastor and the day-to-day execution of ministry. This role blends pastoral presence with operational leadership—supporting outreach initiatives, equipping ministry leaders, strengthening discipleship pathways, and ensuring systems and communication run smoothly as the church continues to grow.
Key ResponsibilitiesOutreach & Discipleship (30%)
– Lead and support outreach initiatives, local partnerships, and community engagement efforts.
– Strengthen pathways for newcomers to connect, grow, and serve.
– Develop volunteer leadership and empower members to use their gifts.
– Support small groups, adult formation, and mentorship relationships.
Operations & Administration (35%)
– Translate the church’s vision into planning, systems, communication flow, and ministry coordination.
– Oversee internal communication between staff, volunteers, and ministry teams.
– Partner with the Executive Assistant and bookkeeper to support budgeting, scheduling, and stewardship systems.
– Establish processes that support healthy growth and preparation for multiple services.
Pastoral Care & Congregational Support (20%)
– Provide pastoral care through visitation, counseling, discipleship, and prayer.
– Assist with worship service hosting, member support, and key life events (baptisms, weddings, funerals).
– Ensure newcomers and long-term members feel seen, valued, and connected.
Leadership, Culture & Communication (15%)
– Foster a culture of unity, diversity, humility, joy, and Christ-centered love.
– Help maintain communication across digital and in-person platforms (announcements, newsletters, ministry updates).
– Support staff and volunteer leadership development through relational coaching and collaboration.
Qualifications
– Mature and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
– Alignment with the mission, theology, culture, and leadership of Flourish Church.
– Strong administrative and organizational skills with proven follow-through.
– Warm, relational leadership style; able to shepherd across diverse backgrounds.
– Effective communicator, both interpersonally and organizationally.
– Experience leading teams and developing volunteers preferred.
– Proficiency with ministry and organizational tools (or willingness to learn).
– Bachelor’s degree required; ministry experience preferred; seminary training is a plus but not required.
