Part-Time Yard Attendant I – Lumber Department Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and organize incoming lumber and building materials per Discovery Co‑op policies; maintain accurate inventory and report discrepancies or damage.
- Deliver products efficiently and professionally, following safety and legislative requirements; verify order accuracy and maintain delivery paperwork.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe lumber yard; sweep, stack, and arrange materials; follow opening and closing procedures.
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting with inquiries, sharing store promotions, and promoting Co‑op membership.
- Safely operate and maintain equipment, tools, and PPE; complete safety checklists, logbooks, and maintenance as required.
- Follow all Discovery Co‑op policies and procedures; embody the Co‑op brand and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Basic knowledge of building materials is an asset.
- Co‑operative retail experience is an asset.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License is required.
- Must have basic math and reading skills.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and perform heavy lifting between 50–100 lbs.
- Will be required to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
