About the Role
Regional Crane Rentals Ltd is seeking an experienced and motivated Part/Shop Coordinator to oversee the daily operations of our service shop, which specializes in repairs and maintenance for company-owned heavy trucks and cranes. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, a quick learner and an understanding of the heavy truck/crane industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Shop Operations: Oversee daily shop activities, ensuring efficient workflow and timely service repairs. Input Maintenance details in the asset and maintenance program.
- Work Order Management: Create/Assign/submit work orders, and track job progress.
- Parts Management: Source, purchase, and return parts as needed, analyzing options and securing the best deals.
- Team Leadership: coordinate, communicate and support the service team (Technician.
- Safety & Compliance: Maintain an organized work environment and ensure compliance with all legislative safety requirements.
- Vendor & Manufacturer Relations: Communicate and maintain positive relationships with manufacturers and parts suppliers.
- Process Improvement: Develop, propose and implement strategies to enhance shop efficiency and profitability.
- Record-Keeping: Use company systems to maintain accurate service and compliance records.
- Communication: Utilize and keep with you a company-provided cell phone for seamless communication.
Qualifications & Skills
- Industry Experience: Prior experience in the heavy truck and crane industry is an asset.
- Management Experience: 2-5 years of leadership experience in a service shop environment is encouraged.
- Technical & Parts Knowledge: Strong understanding of parts outsourcing and service operations.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to assess situations, make informed decisions, and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Interpersonal Skills: Professional, reliable, and able to work with diverse personalities.
- Fast-Paced Adaptability: Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail in a dynamic environment.
- Tech-Savvy: Strong computer skills, able to learn new systems, including proficiency in Microsoft applications.
- Organizational Excellence: Strong time-management and prioritization skills.
- Driver’s License: Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
