We are seeking a reliable and customer-oriented Lot Attendant to join our team at the Hamilton Health Sciences Volunteer Association. As a Parking Lot Attendant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Mc Master Children’s Hospital parking lot and providing exceptional customer service to our guests.

What you’ll do

Greet and assist customers with parking and locating vehicles on the lot
Park and arrange vehicles in designated areas
Issue ticket stubs, or place numbered tags on windshield and give customer matching tags for locating parking vehicles
Keep parking within their working areas clean and orderly to ensure that space usage is maximized
Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions and addressing concerns
Assist with guest services, such as providing directions or offering assistance
Direct motorists to parking areas or parking spaces, using hand signals or flashlights as necessary
Lift, position, and remove barricades in order to open or close parking areas.
Inspect vehicles in order to detect potential damages-record findings
Patrol parking areas in order to prevent vehicle damage and vehicle or property thefts
Performs space count in the parking facilities to maximize parking availability for customers
Directs/redirects traffic as needed
Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding lot operations
Other duties as assigned by Parking Manager /Parking Operations Manager

What you bring

Strong hospitality skills and a friendly demeanor
Minimum grade 10 education
1-2 years related work experience
Must possess a valid type ā€œGā€ drivers license
Must be able to operate vehicles with a manual transmission
Knowledge and experience dealing with public
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and with a team
Attention to detail and ability to multitask
Ability to lift 5 to 25lbs
Adheres to all health and safety requirements

Conditions of employment

Health Clearance from Employee Health through Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS), which includes the requirement to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, inclusive of any booster shots, unless an Hamilton Health Sciences exemption is provided.
Having and maintaining work authorization that does not require sponsorship to work in Canada.

The Hamilton Health Sciences Volunteer Association is a non-profit organization that supports patient care at Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS) through the operation of cafes, cafeterias, parking facilities, gift shops and retail services across the organization. To clarify, we are not Hamilton Health Sciences, but rather a separate organization that works within the hospitals to generate profits to donate back to HHS to enhance patient care.
