Outdoor Power Equipment Parts position

Dealer is an Outdoor Power Equipment Dealer in Wake Forest, NC. We provide contractors and homeowners with the finest in lawn and garden tractors, lawn mowers, chain saws, leaf blowers, etc. as well as commercial equipment for contractors and lawn care professionals. We are a growing locally owned business that is in need of a good parts counter/ salesperson to grow with us.

You must have good sales and people skills, a professional attitude and appearance. You must have computer skills, detail oriented and a real desire to help customers. A good mechanical background and the ability to multi-task are crucial. Prior experience in the equipment parts department / sales is required.

Hourly wage based on experience.

Part-time to Full-time Position – Flexible

Target Responsibilities: .

  • Sells outdoor power equipment parts to customers walking or calling into the store.
  • Fills parts requests for the service techs and
  • Participants in rolling inventory checks.
  • Greets customers in a friendly and timely manner.
  • Customer Service – Manages difficult or emotional customer situations;
  • Responds promptly to customer needs;
  • Solicits customer feedback to improve service;
  • Responds to requests for service and assistance;
  • Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; responds well to questions.
  • Follows all company and vendor policies and procedures
  • Adaptability – Adapts to changes in the work environment; Manages competing demands;

Daily Duties and Responsibilities: * Begin each workday with a positive attitude by encouraging each counter person to meet their daily and weekly goals. Work to develop a sense of “team” in the parts department and across other departments.

  • Ascertains make, year, and type of part needed, inspects worn, damaged, or defective part to determine replacement required, or advises customer of part needed according to the description of the malfunction.
  • Discusses the use and features of various parts.
  • Reads catalog, or computer for replacement part stock number and price.
  • Fills customer orders from stock
  • Prepares sales contract.
  • Receive payment, make proper change and wrap or bag merchandise for customer
  • Receives and fills telephone orders for parts
  • Advises customer on substitution or modification of part when replacement is not available.
  • Examines returned part to determine if defective, and exchanges part or refunds money
  • Receives and fills telephone orders for parts
  • Alert the parts manager when stock is running low.

Weekly Duties and Responsibilities: * Marks and stores parts in stockroom according to the prearranged system.

  • Takes inventory of stock, brochures, bulletins, manuals, and publication. Present and accurate count to the parts manager.
  • Advise the parts manager of trends in parts usage. Monitor aging inventory and present a report to the dept manager.
  • Sweep and clean the stock room

Quarterly Duties and Responsibilities: * Meet with Parts/Service Manager to discuss improvement processes to be implemented during the next quarter.
Annual Duties and Responsibilities: * Meet with Parts/Service Manager to discuss year-end results, goals, and objectives for the upcoming year.

Pay: $14.00 – $16.00 per hour
