Optometric Assistant – Optician – Reception

Full Time or Part Time Positions Available! Part-time has the potential to grow into full time as well.

At Eye Q Eye Care we are looking for a permanent full time or permanent part time optometric
assistant/receptionist for our growing practice in Newmarket, Ontario. The position requires
flexibility to work some weeknights. We are not open on weekends currently.

We are a newer practice with a high end frame selection and the latest in ophthalmic lens and diagnostic technology. We are looking for a dynamic and strong optometric assistant who can handle all tasks in an optometry office. We are also looking for someone ambitious, and motivated to help us grow and grow with us.

At Eye Q Eye Care we offer primary eye care with special interests in dry eye and specialty contact lenses. Our eye spa is equipped with the latest technology in IPL and radio frequency offering great benefits to dry eye patients.

Requirements:

• Fluent in English
• Proficient writing and communication skills

Main Responsibilities:

• Greet patients in a friendly and welcoming manner while building rapport.
• Receptionist work
• Perform diagnostic testing and other pre-exam testing, prepare exam rooms including sterilization and calibration of instruments
• Assist patients with frame selection, styling, fitting, lens selection and measurements
• Verify prescription eyeglasses and notify patients when eyewear and contact lens orders are ready
• Dispense, adjust and repair eyewear, troubleshoot and problem solve eyewear issues
• Effectively manage patient encounters including sales, concerns, after care and communications with professionalism
• Work with the Optometrist on managing the website and social media content
• Order and maintain office supplies as needed.
