Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optician to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist patients in selecting and fitting eyewear, provide exceptional customer service, and support the overall operations of our optical practice. Responsibilities
- Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on their prescriptions, lifestyle, and preferences
- Measure and fit eyeglasses and contact lenses accurately to ensure comfort and proper vision correction
- Provide information on lens options, frame styles, and lens coatings to educate patients and facilitate informed decisions
- Take precise measurements for lens fabrication, including pupillary distance and frame fitting parameters
- Maintain knowledge of current optical products, industry trends, and technological advancements
- Support the laboratory process by verifying orders, ensuring quality control, and managing repairs or adjustments as needed
- Deliver excellent customer service by addressing patient questions, scheduling follow-up appointments, and managing retail sales transactions
- Collaborate with optometrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Prior experience in optical retail or laboratory settings is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye care is advantageous
- Experience with optical equipment, including lensometers or other diagnostic tools, is desirable
- Strong retail sales skills with a focus on customer satisfaction and product knowledge
- Familiarity with Epic software or similar electronic health record systems is a plus
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with a professional demeanor
- Previous experience in retail management or supervisory roles is beneficial but not required

Pay: $23.00-$31.00 per hour
