Optical Lab Technician
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Optical Lab Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in lens edging, mounting, and quality control while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Order lenses from the lab. Determine when lenses can be ordered as stock.
- Cut, edge, and mount ophthalmic lenses according to prescription specifications.
- Operate and maintain optical lab equipment, including edgers, blockers, and tracers.
- Verify lens prescriptions and inspect completed eyewear for accuracy and quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to lens fabrication and frame assembly.
- Assist with frame repairs and adjustments as needed. Dispensed glasses to patients as needed.
- Maintain an organized and clean lab environment.
- Work collaboratively with optical staff to ensure timely order completion.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Optical Lab Technician required.
- Experience cutting and edging lenses independently.
- Knowledge of ophthalmic lenses, coatings, and frame materials.
- Ability to read and interpret optical prescriptions.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Pay: $18.00 – $19.00 per hour
