Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Operator I-CNC Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role is integral to ensuring the precise operation of computer numerical control (CNC) machines and related equipment within our production facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency in CNC programming, and experience with various manufacturing tools and techniques. As an Operator I-CNC Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machinery to produce high-quality components efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
- Set up CNC machines such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and CNC presses, ensuring proper tooling and calibration before production runs.
- Program CNC equipment using CAM programming software and interpret blueprints, GD&T specifications, and technical drawings to meet precise manufacturing requirements.
- Operate various manufacturing machinery including stamping presses, press brake machines, and flexo presses with attention to safety and quality standards.
- Conduct routine inspections of machined parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Perform basic troubleshooting on CNC equipment, Fanuc controls, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to minimize downtime.
- Handle materials safely within the warehouse environment, utilizing forklifts when necessary for materials handling and storage.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area adhering to safety protocols and quality control procedures throughout the production process.
- Assist in tooling changes, fabrication tasks, assembly line operations, and packaging as needed to support overall manufacturing efficiency.
Experience
- Prior factory or manufacturing facility experience with hands-on operation of CNC machinery such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, or stamping presses.
- Proficiency in CNC programming languages and software including CAM programming tools; familiarity with SolidWorks or CAD software is advantageous.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T standards, mechanical principles, and fabrication techniques.
- Experience with tooling setup, machining processes, welding, assembly operations, and materials handling equipment such as forklifts.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with basic math skills for measurements and calculations required during setup and quality checks.
- Familiarity with quality control procedures using precision measuring instruments; understanding of manufacturing safety standards is essential.
- Warehouse experience including inventory management, packaging processes, hand tool usage, and factory safety protocols.
