Operations Manager
Aon is looking for a Broking Operations Manager – Reinsurance. This position will work under the supervision of the Chief Operating Officer in reinsurance to provide operational support to the broking team.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada. This role is not eligible for sponsorship, and we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa or work permit.

What the day will look like
Manage the technical assistant team that supports brokers with various tasks, which include; developing Microsoft PowerPoint presentations and graphics, creating and working with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and functions, using analytics to support content and coordinating with colleagues to complete the final product
Work closely with the CanadianLeadershipTeam to participate in strategy development and ensure that the organizational execution supports the goals of Canada
Ensure proper completion of broking compliance requirements such as Client Expenditure Requests (CERs), permissions for access to Aon systems, liaising with Aon’s Compliance Department
Act as alternate approver for operational functions when the Chief Operating Officer is not available
Drive key change initiatives identified bysenior management
Collaborates, establishes clear roles, responsibilities, goals and performance expectations within the team
Help to enable colleagues to deliver value to clients and colleagues, by assisting in optimizing operations, leveraging scale, allocating resources appropriately
Champion leaders to promote and deliver on positive colleague experience that will move engagement scores towards a best in class status
Develop team throughcontinuous learning, honest and timely feedback,mentoring and coachingand by championingInclusionanddiversity
Monitor performance of the team and suggest changes in assignment and composition of team as appropriate
Build and maintain a professional relationship with internal clients
Self-discipline to manage workload and delegate to team where needed
Create a culture that embraces change and embraces new procedures, processes and directions

Skills and experience that will lead to success
5 to 7 years of experience within the insurance industry
Prior experience leading a team is preferred

Proactive problem-solver who anticipates issues, suggestscreative solutionsand ability to make sound business decisions
Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing
