Job Summary
We at Sleepy Smiles Family and Sedation Dentistry in Winnipeg, are seeking dedicated and skilled Registered Nurses for our Operating Room and Recovery Room teams. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and nursing, with a focus on acute care settings. This role requires expertise in various medical practices, including pain management and case management, to ensure the highest quality of care for our pediatric and adult patients with dental anxiety.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing dental surgical procedures in the operating room.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Administer medications and manage pain relief protocols as per physician orders.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and respond promptly to any changes in their condition.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Assist in pre-operative and post-operative assessments, ensuring all patient needs are met.
- Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures, recovery processes, and post-operative care.
- Uphold safety standards and infection control protocols within the operating room environment.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing with CRNM and have valid BLS.
- Previous hospital experience, particularly in an operating room and/or recovery room setting, is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, phlebotomy, medication administration, and case management practices.
- Experience with pediatrics and valid ACLS/PALS is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
